depression was the
rock
that cracked it and
anxiety
was the gut wrenching
shatter
when it all fell
apart.

We question why
it is difficult and
radical
for people to love
themselves,
yet we live in a
world
that capitalizes
and prospers from
self loathing.
Prevention
Isolation is a silent
killer. Love, openness
and inclusion are
secret saviours.

Nothing is the Same
Tread cautiously through
the landmines of life,
even the calmest of scenes
can be wrought with danger.
Nothing is ever as it seems.
Constant
It’s a bird, it’s a plane.
It’s a lifelong companion I
never asked for, and
it won’t go away.
The Perfect Storm
I wish I was like
the rain;
commanding, graceful,
and full of force.
Proportion
Why do a world of women & girls
search for yeses and noes,
for rights and wrongs,
for good and bad,
from a group of minds that will always be closed?
Out of Tune
She sings sweet songs
for all the wrong people.
She sings them for crowds
who cannot understand the words.
The Count
Breath. One, two,
three.
Survive. One, two,
three.
Live. Three, two,
one.
Please Stay
You are a candle
and deserve to
burn out in due course,
not to have your light
prematurely extinguished.
