Quiet unless spoken to,
Prim and proper of course.
This is how we were told to be,
But we tried to stop and be different- we pushed with force.
An army of millions,
Represented by one.
We stood with her,
Even when she was alone.
We sat when told to stand,
When hands clapped for Casey our’s were silent and fisted.
We resisted and we fought,
Sometimes it seemed futile but nevertheless we persisted.
Sure as the sun will rise,
Our battle will continue.
We will grow louder when they try to silence us,
We will not do as we are told to.
As long as the ceiling is made of glass,
You can bet we’ll try to smash it.
We will quarrel and we will push for what is deserved,
Until we get every last bit.
